This session gives a brief background to the New Testament and surveys the Gospels of Matthew and Mark.

Matthew – The King of the Jews. Matthew presents Jesus as the fulfilment of Old Testament promises and expectations, showing him to be the long-awaited Messiah and King.

Mark – The Servant King. Mark portrays Jesus not as one who came to be served, but to serve. Through a fast-paced style, the Gospel builds momentum, highlighting Jesus's busyness and servant heart.
